The idea that our minds and emotions play a critical role in our health is not a new concept.
Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine, taught that good health depends on a balance of mind, body, and environment and recognised the importance of the relationship between the mind and the body in healing:
“It’s far more important to know what person the disease has, than what disease the person has” Hippocrates.
Recently Tone Tellefsen Hughes was interviewed about this concept having noted that sudden pain in the body can be related to emotional stress.
With over 20 years of clinical experience and treating patients, she has seen how stress can manifest itself in the body causing a wide variety of debilitating symptoms.
