Luck’s Yard Swedish Massage therapist, Rob Rusak gives us an insight into his practice and how he works with patients to help them achieve healthy outcomes:

My Practice

Decades of being a massage therapist have taught me that each treatment is different depending on the person’s life journey. I’m always trying to tune in, adjust and release as much tension as the patient is prepared to let go of. I enter into a partnership of respectful trust and dignified care with each patient. I encourage patients to practise personal compassion and care, and to understand the link between releasing physical tension with processing emotional stress and trauma held in the body. My aim is to find the perfect balance of releasing tension and adjusting the right pressure for maximum healing impact.

What I offer

Patients who walk through my door have their own unique experiences and history. My approach is multifaceted and holistic. A patient’s story is always important- so I attentively listen and observe. I respect each experience and reflect back what my patients are communicating through their words, gestures and body tension. Each treatment is different but my outcome goal is always the same- for the patient to leave feeling more comfortable, released and physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually connected. Every treatment plan is tailor made to the individual needs of the patient.

What makes me different?

My massage therapy comes from an understanding of the interconnection of all aspects of human experience in promoting wholeness. I pride myself in treating the last patient of the day with the same energy and attunement as the first. I combine my massage skills and intuition to achieve optimum results. I can feel new stress in the body, and also identify old stored tension that can be triggered and resurface by life events. My consistency of care and respectful approach enhances the healing process in patients. On leaving a treatment I always encourage patients to reciprocate the same level of attention received on my bench for themselves.
