Have you ever tried doing day to day activities with your little finger taped up?  It is very difficult to do even simple tasks. That’s how important the hand is to our daily functional life. From push and pull to threading a needle, hands have a large spectrum of big and small functions and is a complex part of the body with many moving parts.

So if your hands and wrists are hurting or not functioning efficiently, you need to get it looked at. Hand and wrist pain can be broadly classified into mechanical and neural pain, which means it could be from the muscles and bones or from your nerves.

Some examples are arthritis of the thumb and fingers or carpal tunnel syndrome. It could also be inflammatory problems like rheumatoid arthritis or tendonitis of the wrist and fingers or inflammation of the soft tissues. It is essential to get the correct diagnosis and start treatment in order to preserve the function of your hands .

Arthritis of the fingers are a common problem with aging and early identification and consistent exercises can make a huge difference to the appearance as well as function of your hand. Controlling swelling and or inflammation and choosing the right movement / exercises for your hand and wrist will make recovery of hand function achievable and quick.
