Luck’s Yard Clinic wins national quality award for the 4th time!
Luck’s Yard Clinic in Milford, Surrey celebrated its tenth year in 2017 and has gone from strength to strength with 11 therapists of different disciplines working together to help patients with their health and wellbeing.
Tone Tellefsen Hughes, owner and chiropactor of Luck’s Yard Clinic says:
“We are delighted to have been awarded the Clinical Management Quality Mark (CMQM) for the 4th time from the Royal College of Chiropractors. It recognises our commitment to operating in a professionally managed environment. The aim of our clinic team is to continually improve and the award encourages us that we are achieving this. We put our patients and their care at the heart of everything we do at the clinic.”
In 2018 the clinic started the ‘Would you like a chat about your back?’ campaign which enables new patients to meet the chiropractor for 15 minutes and discuss their health concerns before they book their first appointment.
Tone says: ‘Luck’s Yard Clinic is a therapeutic place and we want patients to know who we are before they book any treatments. During this appointment we may decide that another therapy such as podiatry, massage or acupuncture may be more appropriate than chiropractic, and in this way it saves our patients both time and money.’
She explains: ‘We have five chiropractors all working slightly differently and with particular areas of interest so one may have a more appropriate skillset for each individual. This 15 minute free chat allows us to discuss their health concerns so we can really help patients choose the best option for them.’
The CMQM is awarded to chiropractic clinics that demonstrate excellence in terms of operating within a structured and managed clinical environment. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in a range of areas including in-house clinical audits, incident reporting and patient satisfaction.
There is a lot of hard work behind the CMQM award and the Practice partnership Quality Mark award (PPQM). Luck’s Yard Clinic carries out patient satisfaction questionnaires to make sure they are offering the best possible care to patients.
Tone says: ‘In 2017 we carried out an email survey of our patients and were delighted to get 114 replies. This was their response.
- 92.7% felt their therapist explained their condition clearly and to their satisfaction.
- 99% reported that their therapist treated them courteously and professionally.
- 86.8% Found it easy to book their appointment
- 95.6% found the treatment had been of benefit to their health.
We are also excited about our online booking facility and our new free clinic app with a large library of exercise and rehabilitation films to help patients with their preventative care after treatment.’
